Elvis: A Legendary Performer (Volume 2)was released by RCA in January 1976. The compilation album consists of 14 songs and two previously unreleased interview recordings. The first track is Elvis’ early recording of “Harbor Lights” from 1954 and his time at Sun Records, followed by four more tunes from the 1950s, eight from the ‘60s and one from the 1970s. Like Volume 1, this compilation included previously unreleased material, with Volume 3, released in 1978 after Elvis’ death, consisting almost entirely of previously unreleased material. Offered is the framed award for Elvis: A Legendary Performer (Volume 2) issued by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) which displays a plaque next to a small image of the album cover and mounted beneath the gold record that reads “Presented to ELVIS PRESLEY to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of the RCA RECORDS long-playing record album ‘ELVIS: A LEGENDARY PERFORMER VOLUME 2’,” all set against a black background. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on October 25, 1977. The framed award measures 21 1/2 by 17 1/2 inches (54.61 x 44.45 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The award presents with some scratches and wear to the gold finish on the wooden frame, but the award area is free of any major defects. Excellent to Mint condition.
