In 1967, Elvis purchased a grand French Regency style house located at 1174 Hillcrest Drive in Beverly Hills, California for $400,000. The house, which was originally built in 1958, was located in the luxurious Trousdale Estates and was designed by architect Rex Lotery. The 5,367-square-foot home had four bedrooms and five bathrooms, and featured breathtaking panoramic views of both the city and ocean. The family enjoyed time spent at this home until it was sold in 1973. Fans would frequently gather at the gates of the home and Elvis would often appear to sign autographs and take photos. Offered are six (6) black-and-white photographs of Elvis with fans outside this home. Each photo has the handwritten date notation of “11-68” and the name “M. Noaro” on the reverse. Elvis was in California in November 1968 filming The Trouble With Girls. The photos appear to be taken on two different occasions during this time when Elvis came down the driveway to visit with fans, which he did fairly regularly. In the two photos with Elvis in the leather jacket, one fan can be seen wearing the ribbon promoting his upcoming “Singer Presents Elvis” TV special, which was about to air on December 2, 1968. Elvis is wearing a different outfit in the other four photos. Each photo measures 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches (8.89 x 8.89 cm) and the group is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The photos are free of distresses, although the backs show minor signs of album mounting. Near Mint condition.
