December 2-12, 1976 was Elvis’ 15th “season” performing at the Las Vegas Hilton and would end up being his last set of concerts in the legendary theater of the former International Hotel. Elvis performed 15 shows for this engagement and while reviews over the performances vary, Elvis started out strong, and with Ginger Alden in the audience on the opening night, each tune was belted with purpose. Elvis’ magic and charm were on full display as he began his pre-holiday Jubilee in full control, giving the audience exactly what they came to see and hear. Elvis performed a single dinner show on the opening night of December 2, 1976 and would continue with only one show a night except for Fridays and Saturdays. As always, the entire two-week run was completely sold out. Offered is a collection of forty (40) color period snapshots taken from a close vantage point of Elvis on stage wearing his 1974 Arabian (also referred as Ace of Spades, King of Spades) jumpsuit. The collection is housed in its original owner’s scrapbook, from which the photos can be easily removed with little residue on the backs of the photos. The scrapbook contains several pages with over a dozen period newspaper articles from various newspapers reporting on Elvis’ passing in August 1977. Each of the snapshots measure 3 1/2 by 5 inches (8.89 x 12.7 cm), the scrapbook measures 12 by 14 by 1/2 inches (30.48 x 35.56 x 1.27 cm) and the grouping is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The scrapbook is in excellent, well-loved condition with photos exhibiting typical minor fading from age.
