Elvis was both spiritual and religious and embraced his faith, which was exhibited in many facets of his life from his beloved gospel music to the adornments he chose to wear. Elvis would often share his beliefs with friends and family which included gifting religious symbols such as bibles or the cross. A splendid example of such is the offered 14-karat gold and diamond cross pendant and necklace, which has an elegant and simple design with tapered edges, a center diamond weighing 0.05 carat, and the markings “NR” at the top. This beautiful pendant, wighing 2.5 grams, comes with a handwritten letter on “E.A.P” silver embossed stationery dated 9/15/93 from Patsy Presley that states in part, “Elvis gave me this 14k gold cross with diamond during the Christmas holidays in 1965. He had arranged for a jeweler to come out to Graceland, so that he might do some ‘Home Shopping.’ (before it’s time) ha! The cross has always been a symbol of our religious beliefs. Elvis loved the cross and often gave it as a special gift. It has often given me comfort throughout the years... It was one of my first gifts from Elvis.” The letter has a post script that states, “Elvis personally placed this cross & chain around my neck.” The lovely cross pendant measures 1 1/4 by 7/8 inches (3.17 x 2.22 cm) and hangs from an O-style chain that measures 16 inches (40.64 cm) in length. This personal Christmas gift from Elvis that was treasured by Patsy is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The cross and chain are in excellent condition overall.
