Marion Keisker is often credited with discovering Elvis when he walked into Sun Studios in August 1953 and she encouraged Sam Phillips to listen to the talented young man. That encounter launched one of the most legendary stars in the music world. Sam Phillips signed Elvis and released his first five singles before Elvis moved to RCA in November 1955, but the two remained friends and the offered contact sheet with eight (8) images of a smiling Elvis, Sam and Marion attest to that relationship. On September 23, 1956, Elvis returned home to Memphis after completing his first film, Love Me Tender, in Hollywood. He then paid a visit to Sam and Marion at Sun Studios and these fantastic images capture their friendly reunion. The medium-format negative, black-and-white contact sheet has two stunning images of the three standing in a warm embrace outside Sun Studios, while six images have the three friends chatting and admiring a new white vehicle, likely owned by Elvis or Sam. While a variety of images from this reunion are available, these great shots capture a more intimate look at the close personal relationship of these three friends on that warm sunny day. The contact sheet measures 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The proof sheet exhibits minor edge and corner wear with one set of staple holes on the upper left edge. Overall in excellent condition.
