The 1970s was a prolific decade for Elvis at RCA, with him performing concert tours and conducting shows in Las Vegas. While Elvis was back with a vengeance, performing regularly in Sin City and going on concert tours around the nation, he always found time to create a new album for RCA to release. The Colonel was never shy about broadcasting his star attraction and was always creating new advertisements to grab the attention of fans and launching elaborate promotional campaigns. While always creating new concepts for advertising Elvis’ concerts and live performances, the Colonel would often adaptively reuse a promotion for a variety of purposes. Offered is a collection of four unusually shaped triangular posters in a variety of bright and neon colors that served to promote a variety of Elvis’ endeavors, like his new releases on RCA, his Summer Festival series in Las Vegas and his concert appearances. This group includes: a vermilion and orange neon poster with large white letters reading “Elvis” at the top, narrowing to a burst at the bottom that reads “SUMMER FESTIVAL” with the Hilton logo; a neon pink and black poster with a black circular burst at the bottom which reads “Hear Elvis on RCA Records and Tapes”; a green, yellow and black poster with the circular burst “NOW”; and an orange and electric yellow poster heralding “Hear Elvis on RCA Records and Tapes.” The shape, bold neon colors and pointed broadcasts of these triangular promotional posters were meant to be an eye-catching declaration. The success of the style is evident in the cross-promotional use of this form for a plethora of proclamations. Each triangular banner measures 45 1/2 by 36 inches (115.57 x 91.44 cm) and is stored rolled. The grouping is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The banners exhibit several defects including minor edge wear, several wrinkles, and moderate areas of chipping. All distresses appear to be from storage. Excellent condition overall.
