A popular method of advertising upcoming movies in the 1960s was over radio which reached a wide audience of listeners. Production companies would supply radio stations with records that included announcements that could easily be played in commercial spots. These radio spot announcements were not archived by radio stations and were typically destroyed, making this collection scarce. The offered group of five (5) records includes: 1960 “Paramount Pictures” G.I. Blues Radio Spots 33 1/3 RPM LP with 18 Radio Commercials - 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter; 1966 “United Artists” Frankie and Johnny McClendon Radio Spot Announcements 33 1/3 RPM LP with 11 Radio Commercials - 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter; 1968 “MGM” Stay Away, Joe Radio Spot Announcements 33 1/3 RPM LP with 4 Radio Commercials - 10 inches LP (25.4 cm) in diameter; 1966 “MGM” Spinout Radio Spot Announcements 33 1/3 RPM LP with 4 Radio Commercials - 10 inches LP (25.4 cm) in diameter; and 1969 “National General Pictures” Charro Radio Spot Announcements 33 1/3 RPM LP with 5 Radio Commercials - 10 inches LP (25.4 cm) in diameter. Given the rarity of these radio spot announcement records, they are typically offered individually and now is your chance to start or enhance your collection. The group of records is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
G.I. Blues example has moderate scuffing and large marker “6A” and “6B” on the labels. VG condition. The other four discs are extremely clean. NM condition.
