The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, considered the signature event for the city of Houston, was established in 1931 and continues to this day. One of the milestones for the 1974 event were the Elvis Presley concerts, his last two shows performed at the Astrodome, which drew record crowds. The first show set a one-day attendance record at the massive venue with an audience of close to 44,000 and the second show, later that same day, broke that record—with total attendance for the day exceeding 88,000! Elvis was featured that year with other celebrity entertainers like Conway Twitty, The Jackson 5, Sonny & Cher and many more. While in great company of big named entertainers of the day at this multi-day event, it was the King of Rock ’n’ Roll that broke all attendance records twice! Offered is a handmade poster advertising the world record for attendance that Elvis achieved on Sunday, March 3, 1974 with a crowd of 88,498 fans. It was no small feat to shatter the previous audience record at this large-scale, long-time event. This great promotional poster with large red lettering set against a white background confirms the vast appeal of Elvis with a “Sold Out” placard along the bottom and handsomely framed. This unique poster measures 15 1/2 by 15 inches (39.37 x 38.1 cm) and the smaller placard measures 4 by 11 inches (10.16 x 27.94 cm). The framed display measures 20 by 16 inches (50.8 x 40.64 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster presents with few, if any, defects. Near Mint condition.
