On Stage was released by RCA in June of 1970 and consisted of live performances at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, most of which were from shows on February 10-19 of the same year. The album varied from others as it was composed mainly of songs not typically known to be sung by Elvis. The album hit number 13 on the Billboard chart and was certified gold in February 1971 and platinum in July 1999 by RIAA. Offered is the RIAA framed gold award for On Stage that displays a plaque, mounted beneath a gold record with orange label, that reads “Presented to ELVIS PRESLEY to commemorate the sale of more than one million dollars worth of the RCA RECORDS long-playing record album ‘ON STAGE / FEBRUARY 1970,’” all set against a white linen matte background. The album featured several songs which became staples of Elvis’ concerts including “C. C. Rider,” “Polk Salad Annie,” and “The Wonder of You” which was a number one worldwide single. This album has sold more than ten million copies globally since its release date and is known for displaying only Elvis’ image and not his name on the cover. The framed award measures 21 1/2 by 17 1/2 inches (54.61 x 44.45 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The award presents with some scratches and wear to the wooden frame, but the award area is free of any major defects. Excellent to Mint condition.
