Elvis’ single “Don’t” was released by RCA with “I Beg of You” on side B in January 1958. The song, written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stroller with Elvis specifically in mind, reached number three on the Billboard charts. Offered is a framed RIAA Certified Gold Sales Award presented with a plaque mounted beneath a gold 45 single that states “Presented to ELVIS PRESLEY to Commemorate the Sale of More than 500,000 Copies of the RCA RECORDS Single Record ‘Don’t’.” The award style, with gold frame and black matte background, indicates this is a late ’70s/early ’80s award—the RIAA certified the song gold in 1983. The official release date of Elvis’ new 45 “Don’t / I Beg of You” was January 7, 1958 with sales reaching over 1.3 million. The single was certified gold by RIAA on April 15, 1983 and platinum on March 27, 1992. The framed award measures 17 by 13 inches (43.18 x 33.02 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The award presents with some minor scratches and wear to the gold finish on the wooden frame, but the award area is free of any major defects. Excellent to Mint condition.
