Elvis’ first tour in 1977 began on February 12th in Hollywood, Florida and his final tour of five for the year started with the June 17th performance in Springfield, Missouri. Unknown at the time, this June tour in the Midwest would turn out to be his last before his untimely death that August. A couple of the shows on this last tour were filmed for the CBS television special Elvis in Concert. The reviews of this tour in local papers did as much justice to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll as he did himself in providing entertainment to his fans. Some of the reviews touted, “Fans shrieked, swoon as Elvis croons his tunes,” and “Only a lout with no appreciation whatsoever for modern popular music could have escaped Presley’s spell.” Elvis was adoringly received at what would be his very last concert on June 26, 1977 at the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana. A newspaper review of the show touted that Elvis performed in true Presley style before 18,000 “enthusiastic, sweaty palmed” fans. It described the event and reaction from the crowd with accolades and noted, “The coveted scarves, tossed into the audience after gracing the singer’s neck, caused mad scrambles by the stage as he got rid of them just about as fast as they were put around his neck. The fans were well-behaved, considering the stampedes that take place at rock concerts.” In addition to the overwhelmingly positive reception from fans, Elvis was also presented with a plaque commemorating the pressing of the two billionth record at RCA’s Indianapolis Pressing Plant. Appropriate for the venue and timely given that this would be Elvis’ last-ever concert performance. Offered is a pair of sequential ticket stubs for this last concert with seats on the aisle in section 1 row W, seats 105 and 106. Ideal placement for an adoring fan who carefully created a scrapbook full of memories of the King that is also included. The scrapbook contains a plethora of newspaper clippings of the star that are well preserved. The tickets were in the accompanying fan scrapbook, which was very lovingly and tidily put together after his passing. A fitting tribute to Elvis’ last live performance. The tickets measure 1 1/2 by 3 1/4 inches (3.81 x 8.25 cm) and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The tickets have very minor remnants of album adhesive on the reverse. Excellent condition.
