Record samplers were commonly used by record labels in the ’60s and ’70s to introduce a variety of artists and songs in their catalog to listeners at once. This promotional tool was used as a form of direct marketing while also provided to radio stations to reach markets in the US and all over the world. Offered is a rare set of colored vinyl Universal Records 10-inch samplers that contain one Elvis song each. Elvis was in good company on these records with other artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, Roy Orbison and others. The featured songs by Elvis include “Puppet on a String” on side A of the red vinyl sampler and “One Broken Heart for Sale” on side A of the green vinyl sampler. These rare vinyls also come with the original Universal Records Japanese sleeves and the song lyric sheets (in English). This method was a clever way of introducing a variety of artists at once in order to promote record sales for each musical talent. The records each measure 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Both records present with minor surface wear to the colored vinyl including some scuffing and surface wear. VG condition overall.
