With a first-rate cast, Spinout starred Elvis Presley with Shelley Fabares, Diane McBain, Dodie Marshall, Deborah Walley, Jack Mullaney, Will Hutchins, Una Merkel, Thordis Brandt, and Virginia Wood. The film, produced by Joe Pasternak and directed by Norman Taurog, was released by MGM in October 1966 to solidly positive reviews. Elvis plays Mike McCoy, the singer of a band and part time race-car driver who is pursued by an heiress, an author and his drummer. When forced to decide which he will marry, he agrees to marry all three—to other men as he goes on to continue enjoying the bachelor life. Offered is an original continuity sketch from the MGM production. The sketch depicts the scene identified under the drawing as “Harold gets back on road—followed closely by Philip & Elvis.” The sketch is stamped in the lower left “Never Say Yes / M-G-M” and in the lower right “Spinout / M-G-M” along with a circled number 4. The sketch comes with a copy of a certificate dated 1979 from The Hanley Gallery as well as a copy of a letter dated 1980 from the gallery that states in part, “We have been very fortunate in uncovering seventy of the original racing continuity sketches that were used in making the 1966 Elvis Presley movie ‘Spinout’. We deem this a real coup since to our knowledge these sketches have never before been offered to the public.....As the original working sketches used in the M.G.M. production of ‘Spinout’, it is an almost certainty that Elvis referred to them while making the movie. The sketches had to be close to him, and a part and parcel of his life at that time. He had to look at them, and refer to them when shooting the particular scene; they were important to the movie as it was being made, and to his motion picture career. The sketches hold meaningful contrast to the wide variety of insignificant items that have appeared on the market since Elvis’ death in 1977 that had no connection with him whatsoever, and is only demeaning the memory of this great and wonderful human being.” This visual treasure measures measures 12 by 9 inches (30.48 x 22.86 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The onion skin paper is worn at the edges, from storage, and a bit toned with age. Excellent to Mint condition.
