Beginning in August 1970, Elvis performed what the Colonel dubbed “The Elvis Presley Summer Festival” at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. In preparation that first year, the Colonel launched a lavish promotional campaign. So popular was the concept that the Summer Festivals continued annually every August through 1975. During these wildly successful and well attended performances in Las Vegas, the Colonel and RCA were keen to capitalize on any opportunity to advertise upcoming events, new record releases and anything relating to their main attraction. An ideal way to efficiently cross-market was to use concert advertising to promote Elvis’ musical catalog with RCA, and the offered banner does just that, encouraging concert attendees to “Hear Elvis on RCA Records & Tapes.” The heraldic-shaped canvas banner with neon silkscreened ink and hanging grommets along the top edge features a central record shape containing neon “Elvis Summer Festival” lettering and the Hilton logo set against a bright neon yellow background. The shape, bold neon color and pointed broadcast announcing the Summer Festival was meant to be an eye-catching declaration. The success of the style is evident in the cross-promotional use of this form for a plethora of proclamations. The banner measures 60 by 47 inches (152.4 x 119.38 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The banner suffers from moderate to heavy scuffing and scratches, and has lost a good bit of its silkscreened ink. Very good condition overall.
