Elvis performed five times for a multitude of shows at Del Webb’s Sahara Tahoe Hotel and Casino from 1971 through 1976 with his last on May 9, 1976. The shows were beloved by fans and Elvis alike for their more intimate atmosphere, where he still employed his trademark of using scarves to wipe his brow during a performance and then tossing them to some lucky member of the audience. This blue example with dark blue printed signature was obtained directly from Elvis that last night performance by lucky fan Cheryl Sturm, who recounts her memorable evening in an accompanying letter:

I was able to obtain reservations for several performances to Elvis Presley’s engagement at Del Webb’s Sarah Tahoe Hotel and Casino in Stateline, Nevada in May 1976. This would turn out to be the last time Elvis would play this venue. We had tickets for the closing night 10pm show and it was at this show while Elvis was performing “The Hawaiian Wedding Song” that I was able to receive a blue signature scarf from Elvis. This scarf is just one of many that I would receive from Elvis through the years. Elvis was on stage for almost two hours and it was the longest show I ever witnessed Elvis perform.

This scarf with squared edges measures 34 by 34 inches (86.36 x 86.36 cm) and comes with the letter from Cheryl as well as a plethora of memorabilia from Elvis engagements that includes:

  • Key #258 with Sahara Tahoe key fob
  • Pin back button, diameter 3 3/8 inches (8.57 cm)
  • Table card, measuring (folded) 2 3/4 by 4 inches (6.98 x 10.16 cm)
  • Laminated newspaper ad, measuring 6 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches (15.87 x 8.25 cm)
  • Ticket, measuring 5 7/8 by 3 1/3 inches (14.28 x 8.45 cm)
  • Cardboard photo folder with images on interior, measuring (closed) 12 by 10 1/4 inches (30.48 x 25.03 cm)
  • Souvenir Folio Concert Edition Volume Six, measuring 10 7/8 by 8 1/4 inches (25.71 x 20.95 cm)
  • Newspaper Visitor Guide, measuring 15 by 11 1/2 inches (38.1 x 29.21 cm)
  • Souvenir Pennant, measuring 12 by 29 Inches (30.48 x 73.66 cm)

While many fans had to purchase their souvenir scarf, it was the fortunate few that were given theirs by the king himself, and this excellent example is one of those. This beautiful blue-on-blue scarf tossed by Elvis from the stage and all of the additional memorabilia from the Sahara Tahoe performances are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The scarf is in good condition overall with minor tape residue in one corner; the key is worn and tarnished; the pin back button and table card are in excellent condition; the upper left corner of the ticket is missing and “BAX” is written in blue ink; the cover and images of the blueish/purple cardboard photo folder are faded; the souvenir folio is in good condition with wear along the edges; the newspaper visitor guide is in good condition with some wear to edges and discolored from age. The pennant is only slightly discolored but free of major defects.
