The offered pair of MGM acetates contain four songs from the soundtrack recording session in June 1964 for Elvis Presey's film Girl Happy. The first disc's first side lists the MGM production number as “1829,” the date stamped as “Jun 16 1964,” and handwritten is “Girl Happy (Voice).” The recording starts with the engineer calling out “2003 Take 13.” That take was recorded on June 10, 1964. The reverse label list the song as “Do the Clam (Voice),” and the engineer calls it out as “2010 Take 5,” which was recorded on June 12, 1964. The second disc's first side list the film production number and the handwritten date of “6-19-64,” and lists the title as “Fort Lauderdale / Cut Version / (Picture).” This is a reference to a version they used in the film as opposed the version that ended up the soundtrack. The engineer's voice precedes the take with “2006 Take 2,” which was recorded on June 15, 1964. The second label has the same numbers and date, and the title reads “I Gotta Find My Baby / (Picture).” The beginning of the track has two engineer call outs, the first is “2018 Take 1,” and the second is “2007 Take 2.” The first is the engineer in the room with Elvis on June 15, 1964, as he is about the record his vocals over the instrumental track that was recorded on June 12, 1964. The reference to “Take 2” is from that session—apparently Elvis nailed the vocal in this one and only take. The records measure 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Condition: VG with very minor scuffing. Plays well with some hiss.
