"Crying in the Chapel" was not only a Billboard hit, but the most covered song of 1953. It was writteb by Artie Glenn and sung by his song Darrell while he was still in high school. Elvis recorded his version on October 31, 1960 with the intent to include it on his gospel album His Hand in Mind, but it was not and the song was finally released as a single with "I Beleive in the Man in the Sky" on side by RCA on April 6, 1965. The single reached number 3 on Billboards Hot 100 singles chart and was later included as a bonus track on Elvis' gospel album How Great Thou Art, released in 1967. The single release of "Crying in the Chapel" was certified platinum by RIAA on March 27, 1992. Offered is the RIAA platinum award for "Crynig in the Chapel". The plaque reads "Presented to RCA Records To Commemorate the Sale of More Than 1,000,000 Copies of the RCA Records Single Record 'Crying in the Chapel.'" A small plaque that says "Platinum Sales Award" is sent onto the single itself. The platinum award measures 17 by 13 inches (43.18 x 33.02 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The award presents with only minor distresses to the frame. Near Mint condition.
