As Elvis entered RCA’s Studio B in Nashville in June of 1970 for five days of recording, he was full of energy and a commitment to work. By this time his comeback to the musical field was secure, with four top 10 hits in the last year and a triumphant return to live performances in Las Vegas. He and his ensemble would work into the wee hours these days and produce 35 masters in his most productive recording session ever. Offered is Elvis’ own personal copy of the RCA Nashville single-sided acetate from that recording session on June 8 and 9 that includes the songs “There Goes My Everything,” “If I Were You,” “Only Believe,” “Sylvia,” and “Patch It Up” recorded in that order. The label of the RCA Nashville acetate has the red handwritten notations, “Elvis Presley / 33 1/3 / Stereo / There Goes My Everything / If I Were You / Sylvia / Only Believe / We Can Patch It Up.” In those very productive recording sessions, Elvis was backed by James Burton, Chip Young and Charlie Hodge on guitar, Jerry Carrigan on drums, David Briggs on piano, Norbert Putnam on bass and Charlie McCoy on the organ and harmonica. The songs recorded during these sessions span every conceivable style from gospel and bluegrass to contemporary pop. The offered 33 1/3 RPM acetate comes with its original shipping box addressed to Elvis at the Las Vegas Hilton. Prior to July 14, Elvis was in Las Vegas for show rehearsals that were filmed for use in Elvis: That’s The Way It Is. The box has the handwritten notation to “Hold at Front Desk” and the label is from the Grand Bible and Book Shop in Highland Park, Mich. The acetate measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter, the mailing box measures 13 by 13 by 3/4 inches (33.02 x 33.02 x 1.90 cm) and the pair are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The acetate presents in playable condition, with just a few scuffs and scratches. The box is in overall very good condition with the areas of the label missing and typical expected wear. Excellent condition.
