In the 1965 film Girl Happy, Elvis plays nightclub singer Rusty Wells in the beach party musical set in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Rusty is tasked with keeping an eye on a Chicago club owner’s daughter, which he does and more. The soundtrack for this beach-themed musical film is Elvis’ 10th soundtrack album during his busy acting career. Most tracks were recorded in June 1964 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood California, with 12 tracks including a bonus song in total on the original soundtrack album and 11 used in the film. Offered is a double-sided acetate containing the songs “I’ve Got to Find My Baby” and “Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce,” both songs originally recorded on June 11, 1964. On the red-and-white MGM label on side 1 is handwritten in blue ink “1829 / 2407-1 / Gotta Find Baby (Voice)” with the stamped notations “Jun 16 1964 / 78 RPM.” The reverse contains a similar red-and-white MGM label with the handwritten notations “1829 / 2408-1 / Fort Lauderdale (Voice)” and the stamped notations “Jun 16 1964 / 78 RPM.” The vocal overdubs for these two tunes, among others, were known to be done in the studio on June 15, 1964. The acetate measures 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The record presents in playable condition with only minor scuffs and scratches. Excellent condition.
