At the end of 1964 and beginning of 1965, Elvis spent the holidays in Memphis at Graceland. He rented out the Memphian Theater for New Year’s Eve and celebrated his 30th birthday quietly at home. Elvis enjoyed a solid two-month respite between wrapping up filming of Tickle Me in November 1964 and heading to the recording studio in Nashville to begin the soundtrack for Harum Scarum at the end of February 1965. During this period, Elvis signed check number 1357 for $150.00 written to “Cash” with the handwritten side notation “Personal and Household expense money.” The reverse has been endorsed with an indecipherable signature. With two months spent in Memphis enjoying time with his friends and family, no doubt Elvis was unconcerned with his spending and made sure to carry pocket money while making sure to cover the daily running expenses of Graceland as implied by the notation on this interesting check. The check measures 3 1/4 by 8 1/4 inches (8.25 x 20.95 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The check presents with expected wear from cancellations and handling, but no major defects. Near Mint condition.
