The Auction at Graceland•January 8, 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 1/8/2020
The IC Costume Company designed and custom-made much of Elvis’ performance and personal wardrobes, including his jumpsuits. The offered clothing design sketch, with the red “ICC” stamp from IC Costume Company in the lower left corner, shows a more casual outfit, though one fitting of Elvis’ personal style. We see the high collar and flared sleeves that IC designer Bill Belew was known for when designing Elvis’ jumpsuits and personal clothing. The pencil-drawn design is signed in the lower right corner, but the name is indecipherable. The artist has gone to great lengths to include Elvis’ likeness in the sketch. The onion skin paper measures 12 by 9 inches (30.48 x 22.86 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The sketch presents with moderate to heavy wear, with wrinkles, creasing and edge wear, all most likely from storage. Excellent condition.
