Elvis performed several times at the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, Missouri with the first on January 1, 1956 followed again with a concert on March 29, 1957. Elvis would return again on September 10, 1970, June 28, 1973 and for the last time on March 22, 1976, almost exactly twenty years from his first appearance at Kiel. In June 1973, Elvis wore his Nail Studded Suit before a sold-out crowd at the Kiel Auditorium. In the next and last concert at this venue, Elvis wore his Black Aztec jumpsuit as he wowed the crowd in St. Louis on March 22, 1976 in the last date of a strong tour. The St. Louis Dispatch reviewed the show under the title, “Elvis at Kiel, Still a Crowd Teaser” and continued to describe his performance “In the movie ‘2001,’ heroic strains of ‘Thus Spake Zarathustra’ signal the presence of Godlike Beings from Outer Space. Last night at Kiel Auditorium, the same music signaled the entrance of Elvis Presley from Tupelo, Miss. A packed house of about 10,500 was on hand to hear Presley, resplendent in spangled black pants, a black vest with a lot of cleavage and a ruffled blue shirt, do a 50-minute set. Presley, like Frank Sinatra, has passed the point of being a mere performer and has entered the realm of an institution.”

Offered is a group of six (6) photos of Elvis on stage during his June 28, 1973, appearance at Kiel, each measuring 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches (8.89 x 8.89 cm), and all but one has handwritten notation on the reverse “June 28 1973 Kiel.” Also included in this grouping of Kiel memorabilia is a ticket stub from the March 22, 1976 concert for Main Floor, Sec R/C Row FFF Seat 136 that measures 2 by 1 1/2 inches (5.08 x 3.81 cm) and nine (9) newspaper clippings and ads. A copy of a newspaper article has two smaller articles and two (2) original snapshots from the March show affixed to the front. Completing this St. Louis concert grouping is a Souvenir Folio (Volume 6) that measures 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 cm). This special St. Louis concert collection is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Two of the photos are adhered to one of the newspaper clippings and the other six were trimmed on one or more sides. Excellent condition overall.
