By mid-December 1955, as Elvis’ career was beginning to skyrocket, so too was his appearance booking schedule, with Colonel Parker arranging for Elvis to perform on Stage Show, CBS’ Saturday night variety show with Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, in addition to the Louisiana Hayride and shows around the nation. It was this period that saw Elvis move from Sun to RCA while the Colonel worked with Bob Neal to manage the new entertainer’s career. It wasn’t until February 1956 that Bob Neal decided to move on and left the managing of Elvis solely to Colonel Parker. Offered is a black-and-white image of Elvis with Bob Neal and promoter Les Wolfe just two months before Bob Neal would cease to manage Elvis’ career. The black-and-white photo contains handwritten ink notations on the reverse reading “Les Wolfe (L) / Elvis Presley (C) / + Bob Neal / 12/14/55 / 80847.” The photo measures 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The photo is in good condition overall with creasing along the edges and a horizontal crease in the lower right quadrant. The front contains editorial grease pencil markings and the reverse exhibits discoloration from age.
