On September 2, 1973 Elvis performed an additional show at 3:00 a.m., during which he played tossing back and forth on a bed that was rolled onto the stage. In this final performance for that engagement, Elvis made derogatory remarks against the Hilton, but backpedaled by telling the audience that he was only kidding. However, the Colonel was furious and after the show a row ensued in which Elvis fired the Colonel as he simultaneously quit. The tensions did not last long and the following day it was back to business as usual. The offered placard/poster for this added show has black lettering on cream stock paper reading “Elvis / Extra Special Show by Popular Demand / Sunday Morning, Sept 2nd at 3:00 A.M. / Make your reservations NOW” with a black-and-white image of Elvis in jumpsuit with guitar singing into a microphone. The poster measures 19 by 16 inches (48.26 x 40.64 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The poster presents with a few stains and one small tear to the right side that has been fixed with tape on the reverse. Excellent condition, but presents better, with bold contrast.
