Elvis had many loves in his life, and one important passion was firearms. He amassed an impressive collection over the years and would often carry a firearm with him, making a holster a needed accessory. A smaller-sized holster enabled Elvis to keep his firearm close without drawing unnecessary attention to the gun. Offered is a black-colored basketweave-patterned leather holster with belt strap. The masculine holster is marked on the belt loop “S&W / Safariland / Patented / 3” and comes with a letter on TCB gold-embossed stationery dated December 27, 2000 from Sonny West that states in part, “This letter is to confirm the authenticity of a gun holster owned by Elvis Presley and given to Sonny West in the early 1970’s. It is black in color and has a waffle type design on the outside. There is a strap sewn on the back of the holster for a belt to slide though. This strap is at an angle to make the holster tip forward so as to be easier to withdraw the weapon. This holster is made for a right-handed person. Elvis would often give us some items after a while that had been given to him.” This sleek and stylish holster measures 5 1/2 by 3 by 1 inch (13.97 x 7.62 x 2.54 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The heavy leather holster is in excellent condition overall.
