Ron Postal was a well-known costume designer in Beverly Hills in the 1960s noted for designing costumes and clothing for actors such as Richard Burton, Don Adams in Get Smart and Steve McQueen for his role in the movie The Thomas Crown Affair. Ron Postal was also President of the National Council of Men’s Designers. Perhaps one of the biggest fashion icons of the time, who also happened to be the top entertainer, was Elvis Presley who was setting trends both on and off camera. Offered is a prime example of a Hollywood designer whose fashion was worn by none other than the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll himself in this 1960s style blue turtleneck with side zipper neck and button cuffs. The collar tag sports the “Ron Postal / Beverly Hills and Riviera Hotel - Las Vegas” tag. The shirt comes with a typed and signed letter from Harold Loyd on TCB executive stationery that states in part, “My name is Harold Loyd. Elvis and I are first cousins. I worked the grounds of Graceland for as long as I can remember. Over the years Elvis gave me and my family many gifts. That was Elvis’ nature, he was a wonderful human being and never forgot where he came from and what he owed his fans. This blue long sleeve turtleneck shirt with zippered neck with the clothing tag Ron Postal was worn by Elvis. Elvis gave me this along with some other clothes when he was cleaning out his clothes closet after purchasing some new clothes.” The shirt also comes with two modern prints of photos showing Elvis wearing a very similar top when he and Priscilla brought Lisa Marie home from the hospital. Elvis was always at the height of fashion as can be seen in these images of Elvis wearing his designer turtleneck shirt. The shirt measures 26 1/2 inches (67.31 cm) in length and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The shirt presents with minimal distresses, but some minor wear. Near Mint condition.
