Elvis’ 1970 Summer Festival was documented in the MGM film Elvis: That’s The Way It Is, which chronicles his return to live performances in August of 1970. This striking gold satin banner’s big, bold white lettering states, “Elvis Summer Festival.” Below that headline is the logo for the “International Hotel Las Vegas, Nevada.” This example still has its original top border cloth with pieces coming off both sides. These were usually displayed in large groups of 10-12 pieces strung together. The accompanying letter indicates that a collector owned a whole string of banners, but cut them down to individual examples, including the offered beauty. This exact type of banner is depicted in the documentary film taped during the Summer Festival that began on August 10, 1970. The banner measures 27 1/2 by 11 inches (69.85 x 27.94 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The banner presents with several horizontal fold lines from storage (which could be improved with flattening) but few other defects. Excellent to Mint condition.
