The start of his second tour of 1975 began at Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, Alabama where Elvis had shed a few pounds and his slimmer figure delighted fans as he swiveled his hips and drove the ladies wild. Elvis was upbeat and played with the crowd, jokingly saying after kissing one woman, “You got to me, you know that don’t you? A few weeks ago, another girl kissed me like that and gave me some kind of jungle rot. Now you’ve got it.” Not only did women of all ages rush the stage, leaving some security with injuries, but several girls ended up in the hospital after trying to leap from the balcony to get closer to their idol. It was at this afternoon show on May 31, 1975 that Elvis first wore his Chief (Indian Feather) white jumpsuit, and these black-and-white photos perfectly capture the dashing King in this stunning costume as he performs for and interacts with the ladies. Twenty-six (26) of the thirty-three (33) photos measure 5 by 7 inches (12.7 x 17.78 cm) with six (6) trimmed to slightly smaller sizes. The photos appear to be taken from a very close proximity to the stage and at a different angle than known archives of photos from this show. This collection of images from an upbeat performance with Elvis in prime form is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The photos present with few defects. Near Mint condition.
