The offered 1978 picture disc test pressing is for Elvis Presley’s RCA LP A Legendary Performer - Elvis, Volume 3, which would eventually be released in 1979. The final commercial release utilized a photo of Elvis in a red shirt for the picture disc. This LP, however, utilizes a photo of Elvis in his famous black leather suit from his 1968 “Comeback” TV special. This is the photo that graces the cover of the photo folio that was included with the eventual record release. This obvious test pressing presents with the same photo on both sides, which includes “Side B” along the right side of the photo. While the disc is wrapped in plastic, we can see from the number of tracks on each side and the matrix numbers that this is indeed the record. Furthermore, the legal copy along the edge of the photo reads “1978 Les Disques RCA TM(s) ®RCA CORP. Fait au Canada (Made in Canada),” which indicates that if this test was successful it was destined for the Canadian market. The disc measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
Vinyl is sealed in plastic wrapping. Beautiful MINT condition.
