After pressing millions of blue vinyl Moody Blue albums and two pressings in black vinyl to meet the demand for the record after Elvis’ death, RCA’s Indianapolis pressing plant reached 2 billion albums pressed—a landmark for the plant, which marked the occasion by pressing a tiny run of alternate-color vinyl records, a popular trend in the ’70s, in red, white, green and yellow. The exact number of these small runs is unknown but the fact that they were extremely limited in number is not disputed. It is also believed that these were created as gifts for executives and VIPs to commemorate not on the milestone pressing, but as a tribute to the death of Elvis, the musical talent that had made it all possible. These colored pressings are very rare due to the incredible small numbers originally produced, and offered is an example in green vinyl which comes with its original, still-shrink-wrapped Moody Blue sleeve. Moody Blue was one of Elvis’ best ever selling albums no doubt achieved in part to it being the last released before his tragic death. The green vinyl disc measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The vinyl presents with few if any defects. Stunning NM condition. The sleeve (generic white inner sleeve) presents with minimal wear, if any, and is still in its original shrink-wrap. A small green sticker has been applied to the upper right corner of the front of the sleeve, presumably for collector filing purposes. NM condition.
