In January and February of 1972, Elvis returned to Las Vegas to perform a series of concerts at the International Hotel. The engagement was from January 26 through February 23 and it was during these performances, which were sung with the overwhelming feeling that indicates underlying emotion, that Elvis’ capes become a permanent fixture. At the end of this concert series, Priscilla flew to Las Vegas to inform Elvis that she had been seeing her karate instructor. Also during this time, in January 1972, RCA released the single “Until It’s Time for You to Go” with “We Can Make the Morning” on side B. “Until It’s Time for You to Go,” the Buffy Sainte-Marie cover, reached number 40 on the US Hot 100 charts and sold over a quarter of a million copies.
