Elvis Country (I’m 10,000 Years Old) was released by RCA in January 1971 and was certified gold in December 1977 by RIAA. Elvis recorded most of the tracks in a five-day studio recording session during which he sang each track live with the band. With over 35 songs recorded during those sessions, Elvis and producer Felton Jarvis recognized that he had a large number of country tracks, which prompted them to create a full album of country music, and thus was born Elvis Country. The album reached number 12 on the US Billboard charts and number 6 in the UK. Offered is a record store advertising banner for Elvis Country that was given to the Diskin family by Colonel Parker and comes with a letter, signed by a co-executor of Patti Diskin’s estate, that states in part, “This Elvis item Ad Banner for ‘Elvis Country’ is from the combined estates of Mary and Patti Diskin who worked with Colonel Parker at the Madison, Tennessee office for 35 yrs., beginning in the 50’s. Over the years the Colonel gave Mary and Patti many gifts and memorabilia which they put away in trunks and file folders. As co-executor of Patti’s estate, I can attest to the fact that this item is directly from the Madison office.” Record store poster banners were intended as point-of-purchase ads and were meant to be disposable, so they were often discarded shortly after use, contributing to the rarity of these promotional pieces. This one with its original adhesive strips still intact was spared this fate and is therefore exceptionally unique in this condition. The banner measures 5 3/4 by 15 inches (14.60 x 38.1 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The banner presents with its original factory folds and original adhesive strips untouched on the reverse. Besides a small stain on the right edge, there are few other defects. Near Mint condition.
