When Elvis left Hollywood to resume his musical career, he formed the TCB Band in August 1969, which functioned as the core rhythm section. Elvis named the band for his favored mantra, “Taking Care of Business.” Elvis used this motto in every aspect of his life—the TCB logo with the lightning bolt appeared on his jewelry, airplane, and even in the décor of his home. The lightning bolt furthered his choice slogan to mean “Taking Care of Business in a Flash.” Offered is an early example of the letterhead and coordinating envelope created right after the initial design of the now-famous TCB logo. The 1970s stationery comes with a letter from Tony Frost, nephew of Felton Jarvis, which states in part, “Elvis Presley’s personal stationary [sic] with TCB logo and full address at Graceland with the accompanying envelope was given to my uncle, Felton Jarvis for correspondence with RCA, the Las Vegas Hilton and industry people on behalf of Elvis.” Felton Jarvis was Elvis’ producer from 1966 to 1977 and began working exclusively for Elvis in 1970, doing all of his studio and live concert recordings. The ivory-colored paper displays the black TCB logo in the upper left corner just above Elvis Presley’s name and the address of 3764 Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee 38116. The paper measures 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 cm), the envelope measures 4 by 9 1/2 inches (10.16 x 24.12 cm) and the pair is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Letterhead and envelope present with no serious defects and perhaps just a touch of toning. Near Mint condition.
