Special programming records were provided to radio stations to promote upcoming record or movie releases. Offered is a “Special Palm Sunday Programming” record to announce Elvis’ new album How Great Thou Art which had just been released in February 1967 to capture the listening audience during the Easter holiday. Palm Sunday fell on March 19th that year so the timing was perfect to prompt fans to go to stores after the holiday and purchase the album. The Colonel never missed an opportunity to keep the fans informed while keeping Elvis in the forefront of their minds, especially at the holidays. The special programming record indicated on the label that it was “Not for Sale” and specifically “For DJs only” and provided a complete half-hour program with spot announcements. The disc measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The record presents with minor scuffing and a small number of scratches. VG condition.
