In late August and early September of 1967, Elvis has a break between films and spends time at his ranch horseback riding and enjoying his newfound interest of target shooting. He purchases rifles, clay targets, ear protectors and other gear and supplies. Offered is a carbon copy of an invoice from York Arms Co. dated September 2, 1967 for the purchase of 1 Browning LT20 #5298804, 5 Blue Rock Targets, 1 Case Fed 20 qa - 5206, 1 Case Fed 20 qa - 5206, and 1 Case Western 20 qa x1220 8. The invoice totals $353.66 and contains a large carbon copy “Elvis Presley” signature across the lower half. York Arms was established in 1879, with two locations in Memphis at Whitehaven Plaza and Poplar-Highland Plaza during the period. Their tag line was “If It’s Sporting Goods We Have It,” and it was a precursor to Bass Pro Shops with a memorable interior that gave the feel of being on safari. York Arms was a fixture in Memphis and outfitted hunters as well as high school football and baseball teams with their sporting good needs. The store also supplied the famous entertainer with his shooting supplies. This historic relic, confirming Elvis’ enthusiasm for his new hobby, measures 5 1/2 by 7 3/4 inches (13.97 x 19.68 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The receipt presents with no defects. Near Mint condition.
