RCA records, like Colonel Parker, employed a plethora of marketing tools to promote its artists and in turn increase record sales. One such promotional endeavor was creating holiday programming in the form of records provided to radio stations that consisted of Christmas songs by its catalog of artists. The programming record was designed to enable radio stations to easily play a series of songs for their holiday broadcasts. Offered is a 1959 RCA Christmas Programming LP featuring “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” by Elvis on side 2. The “Not for Sale” promotional record comes with its original interior sleeve that has an image of Santa reading The Night Before Christmas as he sits in a radio announcer’s booth. The reverse has red and green images of the album covers for the represented artists. A great original pairing to convey the holiday spirit. The disc measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The record presents with only minor distresses. NM condition. The original sleeve has serious defects, including staining, edge paper loss, chipping and some paper separation.
