Far superior to standard one-sheets, this three-sheet poster promoting Elvis’ film debut in 20th Century Fox’s Love Me Tender will leave you feeling like you’re standing in front of the New Frontier in Vegas in 1956 with Elvis towering above all on this colorful poster with the appropriate caption “Mr. Rock ‘N’ Roll In The Story He Was Born To Play.” So many firsts here: Elvis in the movies, Debra Paget sharing his first big-screen kiss, and Richard Egan being the first of many established stars to play second fiddle to the young phenom (although he was the last to get higher billing). Reworked slightly for the young singer and retitled from The Reno Brothers after the single sold a million advance copies, Love Me Tender was a fairly straightforward Western tale with some nice plot twists and some songs thrown in for good measure. During a private screening in Memphis prior to the film’s release, Gladys Presley is said to have cried when Elvis’ character passes away at the end of the film. This was arguably the film that launched Elvis’ successful movie career for the following decade. A stunning poster relic of Elvis’ first foray into Hollywood. The poster, which is stored folded, measures approximately 81 by 41 inches (205.74 by 104.14 cm) when assembled and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster presents with areas of paper loss along the edges, age-related toning, wrinkling and creases. There is also some staining from improper storage. Excellent condition.
