In 1956 Elvis merchandise began flooding the market in response to demand from fans for everything and anything Elvis. Among the army of merchandise that was produced by a variety of manufacturers was a board game. Offered is the rare and highly sought-after Elvis Presley board game made in 1956 by Teen-Age Games, Inc. The board game was housed in a pink box with a large black-and-white image of a smiling Elvis on the cover. Not surprisingly, the theme was love and the tag line on the box cover was “A Party Game for the Young at Heart.” This example includes original box; colorful board printed with phrases like “Let’s Go Steady” and “Can’t Do Without You”; playing directions and rules; full-color spinning board with Elvis and guitar as spinner; complete set of 5 pink cardboard record disc pieces (blue version missing); Question and Penalty cards in original holder; green cardboard box insert; retail sell sheet stating a suggested retail price of $2.98 and the rarely seen photo of Elvis Presley. The game makes for an evening of fun centered on love and Elvis, perhaps no better combination. The game box measures 10 1/4 by 20 x 2 inches (26.03 x 50.8 x 5.08 cm), the promotional photo measures 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The box has separation on the lid edges, with one portion separated. The pictorial cover has several areas of staining and small areas of paper loss. Box presents in VG condition. The internal components, including the board, playing cards, photo, etc., present with few distresses. Near Mint condition.
