Colonel Parker, coming from a carnival background, was quite the showman and would have giant contracts on hand to pull out with great fanfare during show negotiations early in Elvis’ career, to magnify his star’s importance. The offered black, white and red example is a pristine version of the contract that Colonel Parker liked to use to make this grand gesture. The contract provides the general terms under which Elvis would perform and leaves space for any additional special terms. The top of the contract has a large black-and-white image of Elvis playing guitar and belting out a tune while the lower section has a plethora of images of Elvis at all ages around the edge. The giant contract, making quite the impression during the fledgling career of this superstar, is stored flat and measures 36 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches (92.7 x 21.6 cm). Offered with a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The contract is in pristine Near Mint to Mint condition.
