It was a vital task of the Colonel’s to keep his number one star in the forefront of the minds of fans during Elvis’ Army service in Germany. One method the Colonel employed was fan letter correspondence from Elvis updating his young followers on his activities and what to look forward to upon his return. With a vast number of fans to keep satisfied and Elvis located on the European continent, it only made sense to create a stamp of Elvis’ signature to give a personal touch to these typed letters while remaining highly efficient in production.

It is evident from the maker’s stamp on this high-quality wooden and rubber stamp that this example was created in Bad Nauheim, Germany while Elvis was stationed there. In addition to the maker’s stamp on the side, “Elvis Presley” is stamped on top with “Loving you” stamped in script alongside it. This facsimile signature rubber stamp comes with a handwritten, double-sided letter from Patsy Presley on “From the Desk of: Elvis Presley” notepaper that states in part, “This stationary [sic] is old and dirty as you can see - thought you might like it” and continues, “one original autograph stamp – Elvis’ own handwriting. This stamp has been used thousands of times. Col. and Uncle Vernon had Elvis sign his signature and had these rubber stamps made to make things a little simpler back in the late fifties or early sixties. I’m not real sure of the exact time. I do know it’s very old.” This incredible relic, originally from the offices at Graceland, recalls a time when correspondence from Elvis to his fans was voluminous. The wood-handled rubber stamp, measuring 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height, 2 3/4 inches (6.98 cm) in length and 2 inches (2.08 cm) in width, is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The high quality wooden stamp is in excellent, well-used condition.
