In June 1977, Elvis began his 5th tour of that year, which would also turn out to be his last. A couple of the shows on this tour were filmed for the upcoming CBS television special “Elvis in Concert.” The reviews of this tour in local papers did as much justice to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll as he did in providing entertainment to his fans. Some of the reviews touted, “Fans shriek, swoon as Elvis croons his tunes,” and “Only a lout with no appreciation whatsoever for modern popular music could have escaped Presley’s spell.” After spending the first half of the year performing to audiences across the nation, Elvis’ reign would come to an end one fateful day in August. However, his legend lives on in the offered period promotional poster that pays tribute to the King with its large central image of Elvis (wearing his “Blue Nail” jumpsuit) under a TCB logo surrounded by seven smaller images. This poster, with printed signature “© Fred Rothenbush 77,” is hand-numbered in pencil 998/1200 and initialed by the artist in the lower right corner. The poster has not been trimmed to the final size, and still shows the printer’s crop marks and color bars. A wonderful ensemble of images capturing Elvis through the years by memorializing the face that changed rock ‘n’ roll forever. The poster measures 26 by 20 inches (66.04 x 50.8 cm), is stored flat and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Poster presents free of defects. Mint condition.
