From the Family of Scotty Moore
At the time Scotty Moore was beginning his musical career, he was moving in circles with other musicians, including The Carter Sisters and The Davis Sisters. It’s evident from the personalized inscriptions on these photos that the ladies enjoyed the company of Scotty and his wife Bobbie. Offered are two black-and-white promotion photographs that are inscribed in detail to Scotty and Bobbie Moore. The Davis Sisters have each signed their first name by their image on the front and inscribed along the top of the photograph, “To Scotty and Bobbie - sure good to know you all. We’ve enjoyed the tour. Scotty, you sure can ‘pick it.’ Bobbie, you & Evelyn come & see us. Everlovin’ - The Davis Sisters.” The promotional black-and-white image of Mother Maybelle and The Carter Sisters (Anita, Helen and June) is inscribed by each on the back, “To Scotty & Bobbie - The Very Best of Everything To Both of You, We've enjoyed being with you all - Hope we have the opportunity again real soon. Sincerely, Helen Carter”; “To Bobbie & Scottie, Its been nice being with you again and hope we meet again soon. Maybelle Carter”; “Bobbie & Scottie! It’s sure been fun! You’ll have to come to Nashville for a visit. Much luck to both of you always! Anita”; and “Bobby & Scotty – It’s always nice to be around such good ole people like you - Hope we see lots of you again - June Carter.” Each photo measures 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm). Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
Both photographs are in excellent condition with strong signatures overall.
