From the Estate of Scotty Moore

Scotty Moore performed with Elvis early in Elvis’ career, starting in 1954 and continuing until 1958. Scotty played guitar and was recognized as one of the top 100 greatest guitarists by Rolling Stone magazine in 2011. Scotty’s talent was also acknowledged by The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers, which proudly saluted him with several certificates of recognition. Offered are three such awards, the first of which is for “Co-Producer for the song ‘Brand New Key’ which has received international recognition for excellence in the recording arts by breaking into the National Charts.” The award is dated February 1972 and signed by Ed Shea of the Southern Regional Office Nashville, Tennessee. The second award recognizes Scotty Moore as “Producer for the song ‘Old Fashioned Love Song’ which has received international recognition for excellence in the recording arts by breaking into the National Charts.” This award is dated July 1972 and signed by Ed Shea. The third “proudly salutes Belle Meade Music, Incorporated Publisher for the song ‘I’m Gonna Leave You’ which has received international recognition for excellence in the recording arts by breaking into the National Charts.” Belle Meade Music was a label started by Scotty Moore. This smaller framed award is dated November 1971 and signed by Ed Shea. The two larger framed ASCAP awards measure 17 by 14 1/4 by 3/4 inches (43.18 x 36.83 x 1.90 cm) and the smaller framed award measures 12 by 9 1/2 inches (30.48 x 24.13 cm). 

These three ASCAP chartbuster awards are offered with a fourth award on wood with a gold scrolled plaque front that reads, “The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers proudly presents this award of merit to Scotty Moore producer of the outstanding country and western song ‘An Old Fashioned Love Song’ Nashville Tennessee October 18, 1972” with a paper label on the reverse from Southern Trophy House, Inc. in Nashville. The wooden award measures 16 by 10 1/2 by 1 inches (40.64 x 26.67 x 2.54 cm). This collection of four ASCAP awards to Scotty Moore is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.



All four awards are in excellent condition overall with the marker signature and dates slightly faded on the three framed paper awards.
