From the Estate of Scotty Moore

The Rockabilly Hall of Fame was organized in March 1997 to present history and information about the artists in the rockabilly genre of music. Scotty Moore was often recognized for his many contributions to the music industry and this particular award was issued to Scotty by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. The “Sam-Sun” Award from Sun Record Company to Winfield Scott Moore III reads, “Scotty - you were definitely ‘the guitar that changed the world’.” The paper award is secured under a Plexiglas top mount affixed to a wooden back and flanked by two gold-colored torches. The award is dated August 7, 2003 and while there is a place for Sam C. Phillips’ signature, it is unsigned. The wooden-backed plaque award, measuring 12 by 15 by 1 inch (30.48 x 38.1 x 2.54 cm) emanates directly from the estate of Scotty Moore and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The wooden plaque award is in Excellent condition overall.
