From the Estate of Scotty Moore
An artist as talented as guitarist Scotty Moore received many accolades and awards for his contributions. Offered are two such awards received by Scotty Moore which include the “Super Picker Award 1976” from the Nashville Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences recognizing “the signal accomplishment of Scotty Moore for the outstanding contribution made to the creation, recording and success of / Teddy Bear / Red Sovine / Starday.” This orange paper recognition certificate has a printed signature from President of the Nashville Chapter John Sturdivant and a gold seal with black and yellow ribbons. The framed award measures 12 3/4 by 9 3/4 inches (32.38 x 24.76 cm). The NARAS award for Scotty’s contributions to “Teddy Bear” is offered with another award on a shaped wooden plaque. This award displays a mini “Teddy Bear” gold record at the center below which a gold plaque reads, “To Scotty Moore / THANKS, for engineering the million seller ‘Teddy Bear’ / Gusto Records.” This wooden award, emanating directly from the estate of Scotty Moore, measures 10 1/2 by 10 1/2 by 3/4 inches (26.67 x 26.67 x 1.90 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The paper recognition certificate is in excellent condition overall. The wooden award is in excellent condition with only the tribute plaque coming loose.
