From the Estate of Scotty Moore

For some great musicians, their instruments are simply a part of who they are, and for Scotty Moore his guitar was like an additional appendage. His musical career started with Elvis in 1954 and he played with the King until 1958. In 1960, Scotty was the production manager at Sam Phillips’ Memphis Recording Studio before moving to Nashville and opening his own studio in 1966. In 1999, Scotty was still playing and touring and in 2007 he released two CDs. Scotty spent more than 50 years doing the thing he loved the most—strumming his beloved Gibson guitar. Offered are a pair of trophies awarded to Scotty for “50 Years of Rock and Roll.” The first award is in the shape of a vintage microphone on a black base, with a plaque that states, “Scotty Moore / Memphis Music Ambassador / For Your Generous Support of the 50th Anniversary of Rock ‘n’ Roll and Memphis’ Music Legacy. July 5, 2004.” The second disc-shaped award on triangular base is dated July 5, 2004 on the plaque, which also reads, “SCOTTIE MOORE / Given in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Both awards bear the “Memphis Celebrates 50 Years of Rock ‘N’ Roll” logo. No one was more deserving of being recognized than the guitarist who had contributed his talents to those 50 years. The trophies, emanating directly from the Estate of Scotty Moore, measure 11 3/4 by 4 11/16 by 4 11/16 inches (29.84 x 11.90 x 11.90 cm) and 7 15/16 by 8 13/16 by 2 inches (10.16 x 22.38 x 5.08 cm). The pair are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The trophy presents with few defects. Near Mint condition.
