From the Estate of Scotty Moore

The Blue Moon Boys was the name of the band formed in 1954 that consisted of members Elvis Presley, Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and the following year, D.J. Fontana. The band appeared regularly at the Eagle’s Nest club in Memphis and toured several Southern cities. It was their appearance on the Louisiana Hayride that became the catapult for Elvis’ entertainment career. Scotty and Bill would part ways with Elvis in 1958. In 2007, The Blue Moon Boys were inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Offered is the 1999 RCA Records Award honoring “THE BLUE MOON BOYS / Scotty Moore - Bill Black - D.J. Fontana / Blue moon, keep a-shinin’ bright.” The contemporary diamond-shaped award has a plaque on the base reading “Presented to SCOTTY MOORE January 8, 1999.” The award, emanating directly from the Estate of Scotty Moore, measures 11 1/4 by 3 1/2 by 4 9/16 inches (28.57 x 8.89 x 11.58 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The trophy presents with few defects. Near Mint condition.
