In January 1957 Elvis recorded four songs at Radio Recorders in Hollywood that would become Elvis' first gospel EP Peace in the Valley released by RCA in April 1957. The EP included the four songs, "(There'll Be) Peace in the Valley (For Me)," "It Is No Secret (What God Can Do)," and "I Believe," "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" on side B. The EP was more somber than celebratory and reflected Elvis admiration for gospel music, a genre that was popular in Memphis. Just six months after the release of this EP, all four songs were added with Christmas songs for the release of Elvis' first holiday album. The EP reached number 3 on the Billboard charts and was certified platinum by RIAA on March 27, 1992. Offered is the RIAA platinum award for Peace in the Valley. The plaque reads "Presented to RCA Records To Commemorate the Sale of More Than 1,000,000 Copies of the RCA Records Extended-Play Record 'Peace in the Valley.'" A small plaque that says "Platinum Sales Award" is sent onto the single itself. The platinum award measures 17 by 13 inches (43.18 x 33.02 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The award presents with only the most minor distresses to the frame. Near Mint condition.
