From the Trude Forsher Collection

The story of A Stone for Danny Fisher featured Danny as a boxer in a suburb of Brooklyn, New York. The film was originally written for James Dean, but then it was shelved after his untimely death in September of 1955. In 1957, the idea of the film was resurrected and adjusted for the lead to be played by the wildly popular star, Elvis Presley. The character of Danny was converted from a boxer to a musician to suit the new lead, the location was changed to New Orleans, the title was adjusted to King Creole, and a new film adaptation of the novel was born. Offered is a comprehensive original promotional collection from the movie that includes two bumper stickers, each measuring 4 by 18 inches (10.16 x 45.72 cm); a decal, measuring 7 by 4 1/2 inches (17.78 x 11.43 cm); a studio publicity photo of Elvis that is inscribed and signed in Trude Forsher’s hand, measuring 10 by 8 1/2 inches (25.4 x 21.59 cm); three photos of Elvis and Colonel on the Paramount lot, each measuring 5 by 4 inches (12.70 x 10.16 cm); a King Creole “Moss Photo” card, measuring 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches (8.89 x 6.35 cm); and Trude Forsher’s Paramount ID card, measuring 2 1/4 by 3 1/2 inches (5.72 x 8.89 cm). This promotional group of ephemera for Elvis’ 4th film is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The bumper stickers are intact with some adhesive bleed-though, expected in these pieces. Excellent condition. The decal is in Near Mint condition. The small photos on the studio lot have minor wear. Excellent to Mint condition. The studio photo of Elvis is clean. Near Mint condition. The “Moss Photo” card and Paramount ID card are in Near Mint condition.
