This rare March 29, 1957 St. Louis, Missouri ticket stub from very early in Elvis’ singing career marks the last performance at which Elvis will wear his gold lamé pants with matching jacket. The Colonel had asked Elvis to no longer drop to his knees as the expensive gold flaked off when he did. Since he is also embarrassed by the clownishness of the entire ensemble, he complies and from then on tends to wear black pants with the gold lamé jacket. The offered ticket is for the Friday, March 29th show in the Kiel Auditorium, Section 13, Row G, Seat 12. The printed ticket cost was $2.50. This early and rare orange-colored ticket stub comes with a souvenir photo album, an RCA Victor souvenir photo of Elvis and a newspaper ad for the show.
The souvenir photo measures 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm), the ticket stub measures 1 1/4 by 1 5/8 inches (3.17 x 4.12 cm), the souvenir album measures 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 cm) and the newspaper ad measures 5 1/4 by 1 3/4 inches (13.33 x 4.44 cm). This fantastic collection of early concert memorabilia is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The ticket stub presents with minor wrinkling, and the album and photo both show wear with creases and minor edge wear. The photo is missing a small portion on the lower right. Excellent condition overall.
